Overview

This songwriting workshop focuses on intention setting and organization of structural composition, while maintaining authenticity throughout the process.  It is designed for those that are hoping to create a body of work that best represents who they are as an artist, but more importantly discover who they are as a person. Each week students will be asked to share their “homework” based off a prompt and example given by Lizzy. Special guests will attend once a week to share their own personal experience with songwriting, and finally the last class will focus on the recording process and how it can change your entire understanding of how to write a song. Positivity required.

Meets Tues and Thurs 5-6:30pm | April 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29

  • Lizzy Ellison

Lizzy Ellison has been a recording/touring musician since 2000. She has put out 7 records, 3 under her moniker, Cardioid, and the previous 4 with Radiation City (PDX). Because touring came to a halt this past year, she began teaching workshops as a means to share her experiences from the music industry and build new relationships with folks interested in learning about songwriting, but mostly to get the human connection we all need.
