Helm's Deep
The BODECKER FOUNDATION provides creative communities with an extraordinary and energetic space for workshops, gathering, and collaboration. Our 14,000 sqft building in NW Portland houses a state-of-the-art recording studio; multi-use event, meeting, and performance spaces; a giant skate bowl; and well-appointed accommodations for artists in residence.
AiR
Artists in Residence are invited to stay on-site at the BODECKER FOUNDATION while they focus on developing new creative work. In exchange, resident artists strengthen our collaborative community during their time with us by leading a youth focused workshop and/or salon event for BODECKER FOUNDATION community members.
Halfling Studio
Halfling Studio is an on-site, state-of-the-art, analog and digital recording facility managed the BODECKER FOUNDATION. Artists including Portugal. The Man, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Kim Gordon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Patterson Hood (Drive by Truckers), The Decemberists, Sleater Kinney, Blitzen Trapper, Thomas Lauderdale of Pink Martini, DAME D.O.L.L.A. have all recorded at Halfling Studio. The studio allocates 25% of available recording dates for Foundation led youth workshops and other educational programming.
