Meet the De La
Salle North
Catholic High
School Interns!

This year the Bodecker Foundation is hosting four incredible interns from De La Salle North Catholic High School as part of their Corporate Work Study Program. The mission of the CWSP is to give students real work experience while offsetting some of the cost of their education. Let’s meet the four interns that we get the pleasure of working with.

“Hello there! My name is Angel, and I’m currently an intern at the Boedecker Foundation. I’ve been here for a few weeks now and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. As an intern, I am given a lot of responsibility and work on some incredibly fascinating projects.  What I aspire to achieve here at Bodecker is to become a wonderful person in terms of managing my work and sports life, as well as to be able to open new doors and meet new people who may be able to help me in the future.  I plan to use what I’ve learned here in my life by learning how to write extremely professional emails, lead tours, and run a company. All of those abilities will lead me to my desired career as an electrician.”

“I am Adam, I am a sophomore at De La Salle and an intern at the Boedecker Foundation. As an intern half of my job is making sure everything is in tip-top shape, whether that be preparing the conference room or shredding papers. The other part of my job is helping out with documents and the company’s schedule, by editing Google Docs and slides. I hope to make good connections with this internship, get work done efficiently, and have fun. This internship has helped me figure out that I want to major in business in college. As days go on I find more enjoyment through working here. I deeply enjoy what I do here; it allows me to use my creativity and fast-thinking skills.”

“Hey, my name is Tehya and  I am a sophomore. I’m an intern at the wonderful Boedecker Foundation. I picked to work here because I love to take photos.  When I learned about Bodecker’s mission to spark young people to realize their creative power, I knew that it was going to be the perfect place for me. What I hope to accomplish here is to be able to go and take photos without having to second-guess myself.”

“My name is Sophia, an intern at the Bodecker Foundation. I am a first-generation student and citizen. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and I am a proud bilingual Latina. I chose to be at this corporate work study partnership because of the creative and open environment. Having the opportunity to learn more and be surrounded by artists has been immeasurably helpful for me. I came into this job wanting to learn more about graphic design and architecture, and it has certainly paid off. My supervisors not only care for my work ethic but how I feel. The support and careful mentorship has given me not only creative freedom but amazing tools and practices for me to continue improving. I wholeheartedly believe this work experience will continue to mold me into the person I want to be.”

Our amazing team of interns continues to grow and thrive in their responsibilities. We feel lucky to have them as part of the team. Thanks, Sophia, Tehya, Adam, and Angel!
