Overview

This workshop, led by award-winning cartoonist Jonathan Hill, will teach participants how to create one-page comics, focusing on clarity, storytelling, and editing. The comics will be collected into zines, available for everyone to take home. No prior experience is required.

Please note that this workshop will take place at The Literary Arts Studios at 925 SW Washington Street Portland, Oregon 97205. Literary Arts is a community-based nonprofit with a mission to engage readers, support writers, and inspire the next generation with great literature.

  • Jonathan Hill

    Jonathan Hill is a cartoonist and illustrator whose works include Americus, Wild Weather: Climate, Storms, and Meteorology, Odessa, and, most recently, Tales of a Seventh Grade Lizard Boy. He enjoys teaching comics as much as he enjoys drawing them and has taught classes and workshops for Literary Arts' Writers in the Schools Program, the Oregon College of Art & Craft, and the Pacific Northwest Comic Arts Festival.
